Jain Bedtime Privacy Policy

Jain Bedtime is a mobile app for Jain bedtime stories, narration, offline listening, and optional premium access. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices available to parents and other users.

This policy is written to match the app behavior shipped in the current mobile app. If the app adds new account, analytics, advertising, microphone, camera, location, or messaging features later, this policy should be updated before those features are released.

Information We Collect

App session information

When the app starts, Jain Bedtime may create or use an anonymous Supabase session. This creates a unique anonymous user ID so the app can provide features without requiring an email address or password.

Story activity

Jain Bedtime may save story-related activity connected to the anonymous app user ID, including:

  • listening progress;
  • completed or partially completed stories;
  • favorite stories;
  • continue-listening items;
  • premium access status; and
  • content issue reports submitted from the app.

Content reports may include the selected report reason and any details typed by the user. Users should not include a child’s personal information in report details.

Purchase and subscription information

If a user buys, restores, or manages Jain Bedtime Premium, purchase and subscription status is processed through Apple App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat. Jain Bedtime uses this information to unlock premium content, restore purchases, and keep subscription entitlements in sync.

Jain Bedtime does not receive full payment card numbers from Apple, Google, or RevenueCat.

Local device data

Jain Bedtime stores downloaded story audio and a small local download database on the user’s device so stories can be played offline. The app may also store normal app state needed to run the service.

Technical information

Like most online apps, Jain Bedtime’s service providers may process technical information needed to operate the app, such as device and app identifiers, network requests, diagnostics, logs, and approximate region information derived from store or network systems.

Information We Do Not Collect

Jain Bedtime does not intentionally collect:

  • child names;
  • child photos;
  • voice recordings;
  • microphone input;
  • camera images;
  • contacts;
  • precise GPS location;
  • advertising identifiers for behavioral advertising; or
  • third-party advertising tracking data.

How We Use Information

Jain Bedtime uses information to:

  • show published stories and collections;
  • play free and premium audio;
  • save listening progress;
  • show continue-listening and favorites;
  • enable offline downloads;
  • verify premium access;
  • process and restore in-app purchases;
  • respond to content issue reports;
  • maintain security and prevent abuse; and
  • troubleshoot app reliability.

Sharing With Service Providers

Jain Bedtime uses service providers that help operate the app:

  • Supabase: backend database, anonymous authentication, storage, signed audio URLs, and server functions.
  • RevenueCat: purchase validation, subscription status, restore purchases, and entitlement management.
  • Apple App Store and Google Play: in-app purchase processing, billing, subscriptions, refunds, and store account management.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices and are used only to support app functionality.

Children and Parents

Jain Bedtime is designed for family use around children’s Jain stories. Parents or guardians should supervise use of the app and should not submit child personal information through content reports or support messages.

The app is designed so children can listen to stories without creating an account or providing personal contact details. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Data Retention

Jain Bedtime keeps anonymous app session data, progress, favorites, purchase entitlement records, and content reports for as long as needed to provide the app, maintain subscriptions, resolve support issues, comply with legal obligations, and protect the service.

Offline downloads remain on the user’s device until removed by the app, deleted by the user, or removed when the app is uninstalled.

Your Choices

Users can:

  • stop using the app at any time;
  • delete local app data by uninstalling the app;
  • remove downloaded audio through app behavior when available or by uninstalling the app;
  • cancel subscriptions through Apple App Store or Google Play account settings;
  • restore purchases from the app’s Settings screen; and
  • request deletion or review of server-side data by contacting us.

Because Jain Bedtime uses anonymous app sessions, deletion requests may require information that helps identify the relevant anonymous app user or purchase record.

Security

Jain Bedtime uses standard platform and provider security practices, including Supabase row-level access controls and signed URLs for private audio access. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to limit collection and access to what the app needs.

International Use

Jain Bedtime’s providers may process information in countries other than the user’s country. By using the app, users understand that information may be processed where Jain Bedtime or its providers operate.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, providers, legal requirements, or store requirements change. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date.
